About Us

The Shady Lady Window Coverings was opened in June of 2004 by Rae Day, with a lot of help from her husband Matthew. In the early days, they focused on plantation shutters and wood blinds. Rae discovered quickly that she wanted to learn everything there is to know about window treatments. Not just what products are available, but why and when to use each one. She began attending training classes and online seminars, plus reading all the trade magazines; anything that would expand her knowledge so she could help more people get exactly what they needed. She continues to keep up with the industry, so if something new and exciting is on the horizon, she will learn about it.

The Shady Lady Window Coverings has come a long, long way from shutters and blinds! We now offer custom draperies, specialty shadings, Roman shades, woven woods, outdoor roller screens and awnings, honeycomb shades and much more. Most of these may be integrated into home automation software. They have a keen focus on child and pet safety, and will explain all the features and benefits of the different operating systems so you may make an informed decision.

The Shady Lady Window Coverings is locally owned and operated and serves Houston, TX and the surrounding areas. We are proud of the professional products and services we provide and take our long-term commitment to the community seriously. We are here now and we'll be here in the future, when you need us again.
